New Equinox Interfaces from Vantage Offer the Ultimate Control Experience for Luxury Spaces

LCD touchscreen and companion mobile device apps simplify the complexities of controlling integrated automation systems.

OREM, UT, August 15, 2013 – Vantage, the leader in lighting‐centric integrated control systems for luxury spaces, announces the September 2013 release of Equinox 73 and companion mobile device apps for Android and iOS. For owners and users, the refined living experience they expect is often paradoxically linked to complex control and automation solutions. Vantage’s Equinox family of products provide a simple yet customizable interface that, when linked to its powerful InFusion system, delivers the means to efficiently create flexible, personalized spaces with a subtle aesthetic.

“Equinox is not only intuitive to use, it can also be uniquely personalized by users to their changing living environments. In addition, this family of products provides the integrator with a very efficient means for configuring both fixed and mobile device interfaces. A combination that delivers a truly differentiated end‐user experience,” said Andrew Wale, Vantage Vice President of Marketing.

Equinox 73

With its sleek glass‐to‐edge LCD touchscreen, Equinox 73 (7” screen displaying 3 full widgets) employs presence detection and light sensors to automatically wake‐up to a desired personalized scenario and adjusts to ambient light conditions.

Equinox 73 users will enjoy a richer, animated control system interface experience through a prescribed control environment featuring nine pre‐programmed widgets. It is simple to

navigate with the swipe or tap of a finger; in addition two tactile buttons, one for home page navigation and the other for custom programming by a certified Vantage integrator.

Consistent Mobile Apps

The Equinox tablet and smartphone apps, designed for iOS and Android, are mobile manifestations of the on‐wall Equinox 73 touchscreen. The apps are specifically designed to ensure that user interaction remains identical to that of the touchscreen GUI.

Exceptional Personalized Control

Equinox 73 and mobile app user interfaces offer extensive options for profiles to simplify control. Once configured by a Vantage integrator, the end‐user can personalize or adjust, and save widget settings with a simple on‐screen interface creating an individualized profile dashboard. There is no limit to the number of profiles that can be created. Each dashboard is accessed through a simple on‐screen drop down. With a prescriptive template for quick programming and on‐screen personalization capability Equinox delivers a truly unique end‐user experience.

Simplified Interface Programming

The touchscreen and apps are initially introduced with nine pre‐programmed widgets for easy control of the most essential functions, including: lighting, scenes, weather, climate, multi‐zone audio, multi‐zone video, home theater, cameras and security. With the corresponding release of Design Center 3.2 (DC, Vantage’s integrator programming tool) widgets are automatically populated with information from the DC file ‐ dramatically simplifying dealer interface programming and providing users with a consistent view of system functions.

The innovative design behind Equinox was driven by specific user feedback. “We listened to our customers and developed products that can evolve as a user’s needs change,” added Andrew Wale. “Equinox embodies a simple interface that is adaptable, intuitive, simple to program and allows for easy personalization by the end‐user.”

The release of Equinox 73 and mobile apps follow the December 2012 release of Equinox 40 and continue Vantage’s expanding line of intuitive in‐wall LCD keypads, touchscreens and apps that offer the ultimate user experience and control interface in luxury spaces.
