Vantage WebPoint 2.1 Takes Remote Access to New Level

New software brings the power of home automation to your fingertips,

at home or anywhere in the world

OREM, UT, July 27, 2009—Vantage, a leading provider of home automation solutions for luxury homeowners, introduced today WebPoint 2.1, the feature-packed update to its remote access software.  WebPoint 2.1 comes equipped with customized iPhone interfaces, IP camera capability, and complete control over multiple homes from any wireless access device.

“WebPoint 2.1 is an upgrade that responds directly to the complex lifestyles of many Vantage customers, so we are anticipating a high adoption rate,” said Andrew Wale, Vantage vice president of marketing.  “In conjunction with advances in both mobile device and cellular network bandwidth, we can now present our homeowners with a flexible remote control and surveillance capability at an attractive price point.”

Using the WebPoint 2.1 application, homeowners can monitor and control integration solutions such as lighting, comfort, security and entertainment in real time using an iPhone or any wireless device.  Whether at home or away, the simple and intuitive interface provides homeowners with total control of surveillance cameras, area light levels, room temperature, shade positions, as well as audio zone and source status.

The remote capabilities of WebPoint 2.1 also deliver peace of mind to Vantage customers who are juggling multiple households and busy lifestyles. For example, the camera solution allows homeowners to check on a vacation home while waiting at the airport, verify that the kids or pets are safe while out to dinner, and enjoy a vacation with the ability to ensure that your home is secure.

"The latest version of WebPoint has a great interface for the iPhone, and I found the speed and response to be very good even on the 3G network,” said Randy Bonomi, owner of Randall Audio/Video in Connecticut.  “Both my friends and my customers were impressed with the ability of WebPoint 2.1 to monitor the whole home, including the cameras, from any remote location.  I was also impressed by how easy the setup was; it took very little effort to have the whole system up and running perfectly.  WebPoint 2.1 is definitely a winner and wonderful companion to InFusion."

Once installed on any PC in the home, a professionally designed Vantage touchscreen interface can be automatically generated for each iPhone or mobile device so that each solution, room and device is fully integrated and accessible.  WebPoint 2.1 also offers customized skins specifically designed for the newest iPhone, iPod Touch, Blackberry or Windows Mobile phone.

Features of WebPoint 2.1 include the following:

Control and monitor multiple homes from anywhere with one handheld mobile device

Lighting Solution - Utilize keypads and sliders as well as house and room scenes

Security Solution - Arm system, disarm, and check zone status via an emulated keypad

Camera Solution - View IP and analog cameras in real time and replay saved video clips after motion is detected

Comfort Solution - Adjust zone temperature settings, motorized blinds and shades positions and manage power settings to save energy

Entertainment Solution - Start music and control theater systems

Grant access to multiple users and filter control options

WebPoint 2.1 is the most recent upgrade to WebPoint 2.0, which was released in 2007.  The system can be installed in mere minutes on any PC, anywhere in the home, and communicates with the Vantage InFusion controller over the home network.  When accessed by a mobile device, WebPoint 2.1 connects the homeowner to their PC and portals them through to the InFusion system, giving them complete control of the home.

WebPoint is not available through Apple’s Application Store; it is only available for purchase from Vantage directly.  To download the WebPoint 2.1 application, visit www.vantagecontrols.com.
